The other day over a cup of coffee, me and my friend had a short but deep conversation on the recent turmoil in the city of dreams - Mumbai. We were astonished by the fact that in the democratic India, the freedom of speech can be misused and can affect the masses to such an extent that the regionalism seems to be a religion.
I really don't know the motive behind Raj Thackeray suddenly emerging as a SAVIOR of Maharashtra , which in itself is so cosmopolitan that its difficult to find who is the son of soil and who is not.
Mumbai, the city which drives the Indian economy has the biggest investors from outside Maharashtra.Ambani,Birla,Godrej,Bajaj to name a few, though are not BhoomiPutras but have been the Shravan kumars who made Mumbai an economic capital.I dont say,Mumbai is Mumbai just because of them, but I would put it as a joint effort of people from many states.
I agree, Mumbai is getting overcrowded and highly populated but instead of finding a mature and "beneficial to all" solution, it was heart breaking to see that the innocent Northies were brutally beaten up and frightened to leave Mumbai and their livelihood.
This arouses few questions. What are they paying for?
Paying for just being an outsider? Pay for executing their fundamental rights? Paying for looking Mumbai as the city of dreams? or Paying for racism which is being introduced as a religion by our politicians?
This is India of 21st century.. We know what to believe in and what to discard. In this global era, when the world is getting local and boundaries are just mere symbols of dividing the nations geographically, we Indians would not let India divide by regionalism\caste\creed and more importantly language!!
Last but not the least I would say Jai amchi Mumbai , Jai Maharashtra, Jai Bihar and Jai Hind!!
